Your mind should be your safe zone, not the noisiest place in the world. Restore your inner peace. If you are always on edge and unable to relax, this book is for you. Choose the pace that you want to live life at—you do have a choice. Control your thoughts, life, and control happiness.
The Art of Letting Go is all about organizing the mess in your mind. It’s about how to stop focusing on the past that is over, or the future that may never occur, and being present in the situations that you can actually have agency in. It’s about how to rewire the anxious connections in your brain and switch your mental programming and beliefs. It’s about understanding that our brains are made for 10,000 BC and that you can afford to let your guard down.
It’s about trusting that things will be okay, how to control your self-talk, and transform your internal worldview.
Nick Trenton grew up in rural Illinois and is quite literally a farm boy. His best friend growing up was his trusty companion Leonard the dachshund. RIP Leonard.
Eventually, he made it off the farm and obtained a BS in economics, followed by an MA in behavioral psychology.
Here, he provides psychologically proven tips to get out of your mind and into your life:
Practicing nonjudgment and observation over your emotions.Untangling the toxic beliefs of urgency and danger in your brain. How to use brain dumping in the most calming way possible.Exercises for self-distancing and externalization: powerful psychological techniques.Defeating your drive for perfection while finding a drive for excellency.

Thought-provoking but wonky edit job.
The content is insightful and thought provoking. I’ve been able to pull alot of the ideas and use in different ways with the teens at our ministry, a marriage workshop my husband and I are hosting and in personal life! The repetitiveness and actual font/text/spacing is very wonky and hard to ignore…causing a slower reading experience than I’m used to, because of focusing on that and having to reread sections to get my brain back on track. Not a good mix for someone with ADD and OCD!Single. Double, Triple. Quadruple spacing randomly and ALL throughout the book with no rhyme or reason?I actually read the last chapter to see if he mentions this as a tactic he was using to tie up the book in a bow at the end.Spoiler alert.Nope!

I recommend.
I liked this book, and I recommend it if you want to know a little bit more about your own emotions.
Mindy Cannon –
Great concept but repetitive
I think the concept is great and has some good tools but I felt like I was reading a paper someone wrote trying to meet a word count. Very repetitive and rewording the sentences to make more lines on the page.

Teaches uThe positive effect of not getting the best
Excellent resource for overcoming the obstacles of âless than â as a positive result of not achieving your anticipated outcomes. Offers constructive advice to understand how to learn and grow instead of gravitating towards negative talk. Teaches to build confidence and character and strategies that can help you attain your best self.

If you’re Still trying to figure out how to move forward this is it
This is the book you read when you’re trying to trust yourself again. If youâve ever felt stuck between knowing and actually releasing, this is the reminder you didnât know you needed. Go get it!
Will Smith –
Donât bother. Repetitive childish anecdotes that donât say much for example âimagine Samantha is in a car and someone cuts across her. She could say âwhat an idiot they donât know how to driveâ but with mindfulness she would say âthat person isnât great at driving at thatâs made me annoyedâ but she should be aware of her feelingsâ.A load of nonsense, save your money and donât buy this

Great read, highly recommend reading this book
MHP –
This book brings different useful concepts together however, the fact that is self-published means that no editor’s eyes reviewed the book before it went to print. That translates into numerous instances where the same sentences are repeated throughout sections. This makes the reader feels as if they are reading in a loop and that the essence of the concepts the sections convey is lost. The book would benefit to be stripped from these sentences loops which would enhance its conciseness.

I enjoyed the first 3 chapters especially the rest I felt a little reworded concepts, but overall a good book to read, lots of notes to take to remember in various difficult situations. I have given a 5 star for many new concepts I learnt through this book, dichotomy of control, Eisenhower matrix, detachment, etc.
