The #1 New York Times bestselling author of French Women Don’t Get Fat offers a long-awaited collection of delicious, healthy recipes and advice on eating well without gaining weight.

With French Women Don’t Get Fat, Mireille Guiliano wrote the ultimate non–diet book on how to enjoy food and stay slim, sparking a worldwide publishing phenomenon. Now, in her first-ever cookbook, she provides her millions of readers with the recipes that are the cornerstone of her philosophy—mouthwatering, simply prepared dishes that favor fresh, seasonal ingredients and yield high satisfaction.

Organized around Mireille’s three favorite pastimes—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—these recipes emphasize pure flavors, balanced ingredients, and easy cooking methods. Eating pleasurably is just as important as eating healthfully, and Mireille does not neglect dessert and chocolate (essential components of any French woman’s diet) and incorporates advice on entertaining, menu planning, and wine selection. And once again, Mireille offers tips and tricks to reduce one’s waistline (including a secret family recipe from Mireille’s beloved Tante Berthe for a delicious breakfast that melts away pounds effortlessly).

Filled with stories from Mireille’s childhood in France, her life in Paris, Provence, and New York, and her extensive travels and meals for business and enjoyment, The French Women Don’t Get Fat Cookbook is a beautiful, practical lifestyle guide to living well, eating wonderfully, and getting the most out of life with the least amount of stress.

A fun, healthy and encouraging way to cook a few easy recipes!
I got this cookbook from my local library one time and I did one or two recipes from it, but I found that I just might have to go and get one for myself!I’ve read her first book, the French Women Don’t Get Fat, and I just love it. I love her personality and her piquant style, and I would like to follow the French way of living and eating, and wanted to kick-start it with getting her cookbook. I’m going to enjoy it a lot, I can tell! The recipes are easy to read and easy to follow, and I think it would be easy for many different levels of cooking ability to have fun in the kitchen with this delightful cookbook!

    Gotta have it…Enjoy.
This is a fun yet practical journey & food journal. Love the personal anecdotes and stories, plus the recipes are easy & tasty. The journey through the book makes “just saying no to fast foods and heaping helpings” much easier, because it’s fun and “stylish.”

Wonderful cookbook that has given me great recipes and lots …
Wonderful cookbook that has given me great recipes and lots of inspiration. I read the original book written by the author and found Mireille’s thoughts regarding Americans’ eating habits to be insightful. Being French, she has a different viewpoint and she made sense. I applied some of her suggestions to my diet and found that she was correct so I was glad when she produced this cookbook. A definite staple in my collection.

    Excellent book
This is the way my French family has eaten for years, especially my mother, who is nearly 90 years old. The recipes are very good and they are very healthy. There is no nutrition information provided for the recipes. Without this information, you really can’t say for sure if some of the treats like the chocolate mousse and other comfort foods like a cake from Mireille’s childhood are suitable adult choices unless you are prepared to spend an hour a day exercising, which you should. The meal plans are great, but they do require alot of cooking to get started. Mireille is as passionate about food as she is about wine and of course champagne. You should really just enjoy alcohol on occasion. You cannot enjoy it every day. I bought this once and gave it to a friend so I had to buy it again for me. I like the fennel and shrimp recipe.

A delightful addition to any cook’s collection!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this cookbook! I have owned my copy for a couple of years now and can honestly say that each and every recipe I have tried is delicious. It is obvious that Ms. Guiliano included recipes that are “tried and true” and will delight many palates. There are many recipes that are included within this cookbook that are not available on her website so please know that you will be getting new recipes if you decide to buy a copy of this book for your collection. Please try her recipe for “Haricots Verts Salad with Peaches and Almonds” or even her recipe for “Endive with Green Tomato Jam” and you will be thankful you bought this book. The “Butternut Squash Soup” recipe is the best I have ever tried, and her smoothie recipes are delicious and refreshing. The “Goat Cheese and Hazelnut Tartines” are topped with honey and fresh rosemary and were a big hit when I made them for a small get together. I can’t wait to work my way through this entire book!

Exactly what I was looking for
After reading her first book ‘French Women Don’t Get Fat,’ and trying the recipes, I wanted to try more! This book didn’t disappoint. I’m always very impressed at how few ingredients are required for some of the tastiest dishes. Others have noted there are no pictures, but that didn’t bother me a bit. Some of the ingredients are a little different and maybe harder to find in local groceries, but that’s part of the fun – learning about new foods!

Wide use of vegetables from temperate regions not tropical
Good recipes in general although calls for exotic ingredients that are found in temperate climates e.g celeriac. Few generic to the world e.g carrots, chives

Amazing and Delicious Even for a Novice Cook
I hate to cook, and I hate to grocery shop and I’m too busy to do either. So in an effort to create a healthier lifestyle for myself I picked up this book at the library. Needless to say, I needed to purchase a copy immediately thereafter. Even for a novice like myself, these recipes are easy to prepare. I’ve enjoyed all the recipes I’ve cooked so far and it hasn’t taken me nearly HALF the time so many other recipe books promise to save you! A very worthy purchase!

The set of recipes is a bit repetitive at first when you read it, but when you actually get into cooking, you will notice all subtle differences. And this food is simply delicious. My favourite so far is lemon ricotta pancakes. I love pancakes: sweet or savory, you name it. I wasn’t believing that making pancakes out of ricotta is possible at all, but a final result was simply sweeping us out of feet. Unbelievable delicious, soft and the texture was melting in mouth. Mireille food is not only about being delicious, its a feast to all senses. I am looking forward to try all recipes from that book and will not hesitate to buy other books with her recipes.
