My old mat had started to pill. It was a cheap thin one from Walmart. It served its purpose ,but it was time to get a new one. I’m not great with the metric system, so I wasn’t sure if this was the same thickness as my existing one or not. I was pleasantly surprised to find it is about twice as thick! It has a nice, squishy texture. I use it every night before bed for some light yoga stretching. So far it seems to be holding up well. I also fold it in half before rolling it up to keep the “dirty” side (ie the side that touches the floor) contained and the mat cleaner. I have no problem rolling it up this way. I don’t use the carry strap, but it came packaged with it attached. I think over time the elastic might stretch a bit and be less effective. So your mileage may vary. Definitely work the purchase.

It sort of breaks apart while doing downward dog
I am over 100kg, and the area where load is applied (traction) mostly near the feet rapidly erodes and releases tiny mat particles.

Great color but too thin and not durable.
I love this bright, cheerful color, but I wanted a thicker mat. Also, I left it on the floor and my dog tried to “nest” on it – which left permanent scratch marks. I realize it is not designed to withstand dog paw claws, but I was surprised that one exposure left permanent marks.
