Beautiful Quality
Iâm extremely impressed with the quality of these posters. They are a heavy poster board like material! I didnât expect them to be so nice. The main image for the lesson is on one side and the lesson is printed on the back. I got these, the storybook bible, verse cards, and curriculum for my kiddos. I look forward to also reviewing the actual content once we dive in a little more.

Can’t laud these highly enough…
I am not a fan of children’s Bible picture books, generally preferring non-illustrated Bible story books over illiustrated. If illustrated, I prefer more abstract and serious illustrations to the goofy comic book characterizations that have proliferated in the years since my first child was born. For at least three decades now silly comic book characters that belie the seriousness of God’s Word have been standard fare in newly published illustrated Bible story books. Thus, there has been a crying need for a good story book with more serious illustrations along the lines of Kenneth Taylor’s “The Bible in Picture for Little Eyes”–a great collection of well-written stories but with now quite dated illustrations. This set of posters takes the illustrations from Kevin DeYoung’s “The Biggest Story” Bible story book, blows them up in size and places them on thin cardboard/thicker-than-cardstock paper. The illustrations are exceptionally well done. The book does, however, contain pictures of Jesus and because the quality of the illustrations seems to be in inverse proportion to the degree of abstraction of the pictures, these scenes are among the least impressive in the set. I’m opposed to pictures of Christ in any setting, so when a book does have such pictures I prefer abstract renderings; the illustrations of Christ in this set are fairly straighforward facial portraits of a white man with brown hair and a brown beard.OK, that’s my main criticism. I also would say that the writing seems at points to fall short of the pictures. But overall, this is a marvelous set of posters, and if you can afford this set, you would do well to use it for reading the book to your children or grandchildren. The related stories are printed on the back of each poster and the posters are big enough that holding it in front of you as you read the text from the back will draw your audience into the story.I must say that the product photos on Amazon’s product page for this book simply do not do justice to the quality of this set. They make this set seem dark and muddy and fail to represent the posters’ substantial size. The price makes sense once you see the print quality, the paper quality and the size of the collection.I would almost say that this set transforms a fair book into an outstanding reading experience by emphasizing its superb illustrations. If you want to elevate this set to an even higher level, use the posters but read the stories directly from the Bible. Kids can understand God’s Word and I’ve found that beginning kids early on the actual word of God is generally better than using treacly story book paraphrases. The story text isn’t bad, but it’s reductionist and not especially inspiring.

Good Quality, Great Artwork, Fine Storytelling
I have been amazed by these posters. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from these but the quality and beauty of these had me awestruck.First, let me talk about the artwork. It is of the highest quality. It looks more unique than artwork you would expect from a children’s Bible. The abstract art style is very pleasing to look at and you can easily get lost in the details. Most stories are easy to pick out if you are familiar with your Bible though some of the scenes were a little more generic.Second, the quality of the posters is very good. They’re not flimsy paper that could accidentally be ripped by carelessness. They seem to be meant to be stored in the box that they came in. The box is high quality cardboard that itself is a work of art. If taken care of, they could probably last decades.Lastly, the stories on the back are full stories. They are closer to paraphrases of the biblical stories than retelling. For example, the creation story talks about kangaroos and spiders. That’s mostly fine for a kid’s class but you may want to use some discretion. There is also a very short prayer at the end that is a nice way to focus the class on the big picture.I like these. The quality is high and it especially goes great with the “Biggest Story” curriculum. Just a little discretion might be good. Check out my picture to see the Genesis 1 story.

Gorgeous posters â perfect for classroom use!
First of all, the The Biggest Story is a storybook Bible that originally came out in 2015 as a relatively short summary of key moments in the biblical narrative:https://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Story-Crusher-Brings-Garden/dp/1433542447/It was then expanded into a much more thorough storybook Bible in 2022:https://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Story-Bible-Storybook/dp/1433557371/Now author Kevin DeYoung and illustrator Don Clark have expanded again to provide curriculum and classroom aides like these posters. If you’re already familiar with the Biblically sound, beautifully illustrated storybook Bibles, then you’ll find these posters are just more of what you already know and love. These 11″ x 17″ posters give Don Clark’s beautiful artwork the treatment it deserves! The artwork is so iconic, which is means that having these posters around your classroom (or homeschool environment) will help your students bring to mind the lessons that accompany them.In one picture, I’ve placed a poster next to the original 2015 book, for size comparison. I’ve also shown the back of a poster so you can see all the supplemental text available for you to read. The posters are printed on a very nice, heavyweight paper that will stand up to repeated and rough handling. These posters come lovingly packaged in a huge (and heavy!) box. There are 104 of them in total. If you’re using these posters, you might also be interested in this (very well done) box set of curriculum that covers the same Biblical accounts:https://www.amazon.com/dp/1433579804
