Classic Grip Builder—Still Delivers After All These Years.
I had one of these several years ago when I played softball, and it was a staple in my training routine. If you remember, Nolan Ryan endorsed it back in the day—which gave it instant credibility. And for good reason: it’s fantastic for building forearm strength and grip endurance. I’m pretty sure my original one is still tucked away in a tote in the garage. The Marcy Wrist and Forearm Developer hasn’t lost its edge. The resistance is solid, the motion is smooth, and it targets exactly what it promises. I’ve added it back into my workout routine now that I’ve regained strength, and it’s just as effective as I remember. That said, it might not be the best choice for someone who’s lost a lot of strength and is trying to rebuild. Even the lower settings feel pretty heavy, so it’s better suited for maintenance or progression rather than rehab. If you’re looking for a compact, reliable tool to level up your grip game—and you’ve got some strength already—this one’s a classic that still delivers.

    Good for PT
Great device, comfortable and works as expected! Ignore what the other reviews say about it not being enough resistance if you want to use it for PT. I think if you’re just looking for heavy resistance, wrist curls with heavy weights would be better. For me it was perfect for exercising my injured wrist

    a good supplemental forearm workout
Ive actually purchased one of these before, no idea what happened to it but it was probably lose in a move or something, so the fact that i purchased another should say something to start.forearms are a somewhat weird muscle to workout, wrist curls and a “wrist roller” are probably youre best bet for them (Pro tip, take a broom stick and drill a hole, put a sturdy rope/twine through the hole and something to be able to hold weight at the bottom for a DIY wrist roller). this item allows for essentially wrist curls to be done without a barbell or dumbbell. its pretty solidly built, not saying you could abuse it and drop it but its not going to break via normal use. its simple to use, the most annoying part may be trying to dial in the hand position to get the proper movement, but there isnt a lot of play there and once you find it you dont need to adjust. its small enough to be stored virtually anywhere, i keep mine under my desk as i use it while at the computer a lot. its a good device to be able to get in a smaller workout while doing menial tasks.it has an adjustable amount of resistance or weight you can use, i usually keep mine on the highest which is 5. i will say that i normally do sets of 25+ repetitions to get a decent feeling from it. i by no means am i power lifter or anything of that sort so thats a bit disappointing. it does have nice padding that makes it not bothersome to use. it is a bit limited by the fact that the resistance is not that much and it only allows for one movement to be done which limits its functionality.Overall its a pretty good item, its a good supplemental forearm workout. you will want to do other “lifts” along with it, but as an item one can using sitting and watching TV, or reading emails etc its worth its money. i only wish they had a version with more resistance so i would not have to do as many reps to feel it.

    Perfect for a novice.
I really like this tool and think it’s well made, with the right padding in the right areas. It makes it very comfortable and convenient to workout forearms. And it’s an incredible value for $21. Really my only problem with it is the lack of higher resistance… the day I got it, I had to move it to its highest resistance to get a decent workout with 16 reps. So, although I like using it, there is no prospect of growth for me, a lower-intermediate male bodybuilder. For a novice bodybuilder or a woman, this is an excellent device they will be able to use for a long time. I would encourage the manufacturer to make a “pro” version with a higher resistance range.

    this really works!
overview – during the corona shutdown, I had to start working out at home – I bought parallel dipping bars, a head harness (neck exercises) and this Marcy forearm developer – I hadn’t seen this offered anywhere before amazon – reading the reviews, some other buyers said it didn’t have enough resistance – so, I bought one and tried it out – this indeed has ample resistance – you can set the range from light to heavy – also the grip distance – I am not using the full max setting – I do 50 reps on the 1st set – then 30 more reps on the 2nd set, with a 3.5 out of 5 setting – believe me, you will ‘feel the burn’ after working out with these – I liked it so much, I bought a 2nd unit to workout both arms at the same time – I can install and remove both of these units myself – I’m 6’2″ and 230 lbs and in excellant physical shape – and these are well matched to my strength level, which should be just fine for most other people – these are big, so smaller arms may not fit comfortably -pros – plenty of variable resistance – padded contact areas – adjustable grip distance – well made, don’t feel cheap or breakable – decent price at $20 (I bought 2) – intense forearm and wrist workout!cons – after over a weeks use, I have no negative comments -I highly recommend these to any serious power builder –

    Meh, pretty weak
It’s pretty good, max resistance is pretty low. It would be perfect with much more resistance. It’s more of a rehab tool than muscle building.
